The Venturi 400 GT is a sports car produced by the French car manufacturer Venturi. The coupe was produced from 1994 to 1997 with less than 100 units. Only about 15 street versions and 73 units for racing were built. 400 Trophy The Venturi Trophy

This changed in 1992 though with the introduction of the 400 GT. Upon first glance, the 400 GT looks like a greatest hits album of all the classic 70s and 80s supercars. The overall shape is reminiscent of the Ferrari F40. It also sprinkled in a touch of Lotus Esprit, a handful of BMW M1, and a dash of Ferrari 328 for good measure.

Known as the 400 GT, the new Venturi road car was a direct derivative of the one-make Trophy racer, and was aimed at the very top of the market. Carried over from the Trophy was the same twin-turbo, Peugeot-based V6 engine, good for 408hp. Mated to a SADEV five-speed manual gearbox, this was mounted mid, longitudinally in a steel monocoque chassis.

The first cars weren't powerhouses, but the Venturi 400 GT that came in the 1990s remains one of the fastest road-going cars to come from France, and it was also the first road car ever to feature carbon brakes as standard equipment. Venturi produced more racing than road car variants though, and the motorsport entries proved to be formidable.
